NCBTMB Continuing Education Requirements

"You must recertify every four years to maintain your NCBTMB status . . . Recertification requires you to document 48 credits during your four-year certification period. A candidate for recertification may elect to use a combination of credits from various learning options (total credits must equal 48)," including taking classes from NCBTMB-approved continuing education providers, earning non-NCBTMB certifications, taking academic course work, obtaining a college degree, making state and national presentations, holding professional leadership positions, etc. See the NCBTMB Candidate Handbook for details. In addition, "Six credits of professional ethics must be documented and may be included within the 48 total credits."
